Former Ballarat Orphanage Heritage Interpretation Opening

We warmly welcome you to join former residents, their families, friends and the City of Ballarat at the formal opening of heritage interpretation works at 200 Victoria Street. Over its 117-year history, the site served as the Ballarat District Orphan Asylum, Ballarat Orphanage and Ballarat Children’s Home.
 
The project honours the stories of more than 4,000 children who passed through the institution from 1866 until its closure in 1983. We thank Cafs Ballarat and site developers for their contributions.
