Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) has completed an investigation into a recent cyber security incident, where a third party gained unauthorised access to the organisation’s ICT systems via a ransomware attack. RAV is the provider of Open Place.

RAV responded immediately to the incident and continues to work closely with state and federal governments and an expert, independent cyber security agency.

RAV has reached out to those people who are impacted by the breach, and both RAV and Open Place have established a team to support those impacted and ensure all enquiries related to the incident are responded to in a timely and appropriate way.

RAV has also briefed and engaged with CLAN (Care Leavers Australasia Network) and AFA (Alliance for Forgotten Australians).

We understand that this incident may be concerning and apologise for the distress and any inconvenience caused. The confidentiality, privacy and wellbeing of our clients, staff and stakeholders are of critical importance to RAV and Open Place, and we take this breach very seriously.
